“A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia can be frightening,” says Erin Hagen, Community Engagement Manager for The Alzheimer’s Association, Minnesota-North Dakota. “Efforts like those of Edgewood Healthcare help provide awareness about the disease and funds to help those with the disease best manage their symptoms. We appreciate their efforts and their dedication.”
Alzheimer’s disease is the third leading cause of death in North Dakota. More than 5 million Americans are living with dementia, and in the United States, someone develops Alzheimer’s disease every 66 seconds. In 2017, Alzheimer’s and other dementias will cost the nation $259 billion.
