Edgewood Healthcare Expands North Dakota Operations, to include Personal Care Services

April 19, 2019

Edgewood Healthcare recently announced the expansion of its North Dakota operations, which includes the addition of new services made available through their acquisition of Home Care Companions of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Edgewood currently owns and operates 10 senior living communities in North Dakota with five of those locations also offering in-house Medicare-certified outpatient therapy, home health and hospice services provided through Edgewood’s CaringEdge division.

“Home Care Companions has provided high quality, dependable personal care services to area seniors since 2014,” said Phil Gisi, Owner and President of Edgewood Healthcare. “We’ve had plans to expand into the PCS business, so it made sense to partner with an already-established, local organization with a great reputation,” continued Gisi. Edgewood is implementing additional PCS agencies throughout Idaho, North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota.

Edgewood’s available services will now expand to include nonmedical personal care services (PCS) provided in seniors’ private homes. PCS includes tasks such as cooking, cleaning, bathing assistance, medication management, companionship, transportation, running errands, etc. Edgewood and Home Care Companions are confident current clients will enjoy a seamless transition and should not expect any noticeable changes in service.

“Partnering with such a well-known and respected senior living provider makes this a smooth process for everyone,” said Melissa Johnson, Vice President of Edgewood Home Care Services. “Business will remain the same. We will still be a company dedicated to quality employment and quality care for our aging population and people with need in their home,” continued Johnson.
